1. Autumn / Winter crop (best & most common)

• Planting time: September – October (Bhadra–Kartik)
• Harvesting: December – February
• ✅ This is the best season for potato farming in Kathmandu
• Reason: Cool temperature (around 15–25°C) is ideal for growth and tuber formation

2. Spring crop (second option)

• Planting time: January – February (Poush–Magh)
• Harvesting: April – June (Baisakh–Jesth)
• ✅ Also suitable, especially with irrigation
• Common in Kathmandu valley and nearby hills
